Soup Kitchen Bible Verses

In order to receive a meal from the Life Christian Soup Kitchen, students must be able to recite six of the following Bible verses:

  • John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 14: 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
  • John 11: 25–26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”
  • Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters; he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
  • Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
  • John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
  • Mark 10:14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
  • Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me–

Note:  Please pick verses that mean something to you.  Not just the shortest one.  There are two reasons for this:
